Botox® Cosmetic

ABOUT BOTOX® COSMETIC:
Introduced in 2002, Botox® Cosmetic is an FDA approved non surgical treatment used by millions of men and women to temporarily treat moderate to severe lines between the brows. Injected into the muscles that control the frown lines between the brows, the prescription medicine reduces the muscle activity by blocking nerve impulses to the injected muscles giving the appearance of younger, more youthful skin. A simple procedure with fast, immediately noticeable results and no surgery or recovery time, Botox® Cosmetic treatments can help reduce the appearance of aging skin in as little as 10 minutes.

Within days, you will observe a noticeable improvement in moderate-to-severe frown lines between your brows. Lines continue to improve for up to 30 days, and results can last up to 4 months, though results will vary from person to person.

An individual consultation with the doctor will better inform you as to what you can expect and when to schedule your next appointment.

While there is some discomfort during the procedure, it is usually minimal and brief. Side effects associated with the injection include localized pain, infection, inflammation, tenderness, swelling, swelling, redness, and/or bleeding/bruising.

WHAT TO EXPECT DURING BOTOX® COSMETIC TREATMENT:
While no anesthesia is required, the treatment area is numbed using a cold pack or anesthetic cream. Discomfort is usually minimal and brief. Using a tiny syringe, small injects of Botox® Cosmetic are made directly into the muscles that cause those modertate-to-severe frown lines between the brows.

The entire treatment usually lasts approximately 10 minutes. After treatment, you’re ready to get back to your day, with no downtime necessary.

Side effects associated with the injection include localized pain, infection, inflammation, tenderness, swelling, redness, and/or bleeding/bruising.

If you are happy with your botox treatment, you might want to consider a regular treatment schedule to help maintain results. Treatements can be administered every 3 to 4 months as long as you don’t experience any serious alleric reactions or other significant side effects. Contact our office for more information on multiple treatment discounts. If you discontinue treatment, the moderate to severe frown lines between your brows will gradually return to look like they did before treatment.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT BOTOX® COSMETIC:
Will I still be able to make facial expressions? Although the results are visible, a treatment with BOTOX® Cosmetic (onabotulinumtoxinA) will not radically change your facial appearance or make you look as if you’ve “had work done.” The muscle activity that causes frown lines between the brows is temporarily reduced, so you can still frown or look surprised without the wrinkles and creases between your brows.

What happens if I discontinue treatment?
